Career Panels
We will provide students with the opportunity to participate in online panels, where students will listen to lectures from doctors in both rural and urban practices. These lectures will cover all of the different pathways in medicine, helping prospective medical students in gaining insight into the varying fields of medicine.
Within these panels, various topics will be covered, including the basic fundamentals, schooling, and other steps necessary for the specific specialty. These lectures resemble what students will be exposed to in college, thereby facilitating a strong mindset for students to build upon when entering college or medical school.
Career panels will occur in six-week programs, holding meetings with a different doctor or specialist every other week. There will also be opportunities for participants to ask questions and discuss with former or current undergraduate, graduate, and medical school students. By doing so, students looking to pursue careers in healthcare will be able to further learn about the application process as well as learn about the experiences of others.
Through GMA’s efforts, we hope to create a dedicated network of students in science and make impacts within communities on a global scale. If you are interested in joining, please check out our upcoming events and opportunities — we encourage you to sign up!
